Welcome To My Den

Welcome to my web home for thought, consideration, rumination, study, and pontification. In this place I share my questions on the state of the world in general and the American republic in particular. I draw on my life experience, accrued knowledge and hard earned wisdom from decades of life lived, reading, study, and learning across the globe. Now, that doesn’t make me right at all times, but it does qualify me to bloviate to my heart’s content. You, on the other hand, are not required to read, listen, or otherwise accept my views. What I do encourage you to do, however, is explore what I have to say and consider for yourself what you have learned. Question the things you’re told, study your experiences, read source material as opposed to mere opinion or rhetoric and gain your own wisdom through participation, success, failure, and observation. In other words, think critically and seek the truth in all things. Don’t be afraid to come to conclusions that are counter to your preconceptions. Be prepared to find confidence in discovery, comfort in understanding, and peace in the realization that the root of knowledge is the understanding that we truly know nothing in the grand scheme of realitiy.

That is not to say that we do not know things or learn. It is truly a recognition that in the whole vast array of knowledge and potential understanding that we know only the tiniest fraction of the whole; in the calculus of knowledge as a whole we know “nothing”.

So, join me on the journey. I’ll share what I’ve learned and offer my views for consideration. You bring yours to the table and let’s reengage in the age old practice of discourse. Let’s cast aside the cold disregard of stubborn ignorance and seek the answers with mutual respect and the joy of learning. After all, our species has been trying tribalism, feelings, and fantasy quite long enough. I say we give our brains and our reason a chance. God didn’t give us all of that gray matter for nothing. Besides, wouldn’t it be more fun to work together instead of fighting and throwing things at each other. Just tell your friends you’re trying something new. Before you know it I’ll have to change the name of my website. But not until we all realize that thought and reasoning are for all of us. Until then, however, I’ll stick to my view. Remember…

THINKING IS FOR DINOSAURS!
